Bloom Where You Are Planted

That was the mantra that immediately came to mind when Chatelaine asked me to be their Guest Editor and on the cover of the Summer Issue!

First of all woah, what an honour, there are so few Canadian publications left these days and to be asked to front one of the most iconic for women in Canada for generations, is incredibly special.

Second of all, I get to be a Chatelaine guest style editor??

Well then let’s make it all Canadian AND inclusive. Yes, it’s possible.

Ok, but back to blooming, as you know, I’m a gardener in training and full on flower obsessed so the creative appealed to me on that level but if you dig deeper (pun intended) what that mantra is revealing to us is to stop worrying about the what ifs and what coulds and get present and grateful to what is.

Wherever you are, however you are, whoever you are, right now, this summer, is enough. Let’s enjoy these short warm months and bloom baby bloom!

What if we simply decided that who we are, where we are and how we are is enough? What if we took those precious warm summer days to bloom exactly where we are planted?

Meredith Shaw’s All-Canadian Summer Lookbook

Fashion is not just about how you present yourself. Your clothes—and your relationship to them—can unlock so many possibilities. That’s why I believe in inclusivity: A dress in my size can give me the confidence to go out on a date and meet the love of my life; a suit in my size means I can feel my best for a job interview and land my dream career. I’m so proud to be from a country that is home to so many designers who believe in making beautiful collections for all bodies.
