Better Than This

The first time i stepped into a studio to record a song i’d written it was in Nashville TN and it was country music. It’s taken me a few years and a couple albums but i’ve found my way back to where i began and it sure feels good. This is my first country single, “Better Than This” produced by Jeff Johnson (Wes Mack, Dallas Smith, Small Town Pistols) and written by me, Patrick Ballantyne and Jeff Johnson. We are working on the full album right now, coming your way in 2015. I’ve worked with some of my favourites on the songs for this album, Tim Chaisson, The Stellas, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Damhnait Doyle, Gordie Johnson and Patrick Ballantyne…best of the best. Thanks for the support y’all (i can say y’all now right?) :)

HARDEST GOODBYE

Here is the second EP in the series! HARDEST GOODBYE – produced by John Angus MacDonald (The Trews) and featuring some of my very favourite music humans: Tim Chaisson and The Walkervilles. The three songs we chose for this EP are less about the mischievous love of TROUBLE and more about being in the thick of it, being up against something or fighting for something you believe in. When you get into trouble sometimes you gotta say goodbye…and most of the time that goodbye is pretty damn hard.

03 Even If You Don’t Care

Over the next year i’ll be releasing a series of 3 song EPs (Tringles or Threeps if you will) featuring different guest artists and producers. Collaboration is one of my favourite things to explore and i hope that by choosing to make and release my record this way that you’ll feel involved in that collaboration.

I’m so excited to share the first EP with you – TROUBLE – produced by the one and only Joel Plaskett. The three songs we chose for this EP all focus on mischievous love…finding it, keeping it and getting rid of it. They are songs to play when you’re getting ready to go out on the town or on a monday morning when you need a little bounce in your step on the way to work. EP #2 will be produced by John Angus MacDonald (The Trews) and you can keep your eye out for that in October. For now, let’s get into TROUBLE shall we?
